Meet The Team

Josh Gummersall
Chief Content Officer & Co-Founder

Josh Gummersall brings his nearly two decades of producing experience in TV/Film & New Media content to every project, with a passion for collaboration and cinematic storytelling. Prior to Co-Founding Authentic Content, Josh Co-Founded 222 Productions with Adam Levine (Maroon 5) where he developed and oversaw a slate of more than 25 series across multiple genres, including the critically acclaimed Songland (NBC) and Sugar: The Series (YouTube).
During his tenure at 222 Productions, Josh developed and sold numerous scripted & unscripted projects at NBC, Netflix, Turner, YouTube, Spike TV (now Paramount Network) and others.

Prior to 222 Productions, Josh served as Chief Content Officer at Quarterlife Productions, the new media production arm of Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick’s The Bedford Falls Company, executive producing multiple series including quarterlife for NBC/Myspace. He also served in multiple producing capacities across television and film projects at Bedford Falls, including Blood Diamond and A Marriage.

Josh got his start on the cult classic Bedford Falls series My So-Called Life and was progressively promoted to creative executive roles on projects including Traffic, Shakespeare in Love, Relativity,Once & Again and The Last Samurai.

Devon Gummersall
CEO & Co-Founder

Having discovered a passion for creating branded content, Devon Gummersall has directed more than 25 spots for companies like Sephora, Amazon, Stella Artois and Microsoft as well as major non-profits such as The Broad Foundation and The James Irvine Foundation. Devon’s brand video for the Sephora launch of fragrance and beauty brand By Rosie Jane was selected as Sephora’s international template for brand videos for 2019.
Whether working with A-List talent such as Connie Britton, Hayden Panettierre, Tessa Thompson, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau or non-actors in the documentary style, Devon’s passion for eliciting authenticity is on display in everything he directs.

Devon grew up in Los Angeles and began his career as an actor at the age of 14 playing “Brian Krakow” on the acclaimed ABC series “My So-Called Life” with Claire Danes and Jared Leto. Intrigued by visual storytelling, Devon quickly began his journey to the other side of the camera. He was a staff writer on Marshall Herskovitz and Ed Zwick's streaming/NBC series "Quarterlife". He filmed, edited, and directed the music doc “Lawn Chairs and Living Rooms”. Devon directed the indie features “Low Fidelity” and “The Inherited” (released on Lifetime) and moved to directing network television, including multiple episodes of the ABC hit “Nashville”.
